Enhanced Transient Angle Stability Control of Grid-Forming Converter Based on Virtual Synchronous Generator

Attributed to the ability of inertia provision and good regulation performance, virtual synchronous generator (VSG) has been proven as a promising solution problems introduced by using converter interfaced generation. Although small-signal stability control VSG widely analyzed, transient characteristics still needs more study, which belongs large-signal problem. In this article, angle is investigated. Two possible emulation methods, i.e., power-emulation torque-emulation, are compared from perspective characteristics. Then, internal voltage its impact on quantitatively studied in details. Thereafter, an enhanced controller proposed, where analysis also presented evaluate influence acceleration deceleration areas. Finally, effectiveness method validated experimental results.
